Can we use Dummy Flight Ticket for Schengen visa and How long is the Dummy Flight Ticket valid?

Yes, Dummy flight tickets are officially accepted for Schengen visa application, however, some countries within Schengen zone where you are applying your visa, may require you to furnish actual flight confirmed reservation, so it is very important to select the right itinerary and right embassy at the same time.

The actual purposes of submitting dummy tickets are they want to know the traveler intent, route schedule, departure and returning timings if round-trip and traveler name printed over the documents. These are the only essentials things they want from you.

How long is the dummy ticket valid?

A dummy ticket in this case is just a temporary hold on a flight and not an actual ticket that customers can use for travel. Most embassies recommend that you only reserve flights and not buy air tickets for visa processing.

The validity of dummy ticket is at the discretion of airlines and can only be allowed for a limited time. The period of validity can vary depending on airline policy, proximity to departure, and flight capacity among other factors. Dummy tickets are more likely to expire sooner close to departure or on fuller flights.

Typically, our dummy tickets are valid anywhere from 48 hours to 14 days. But sometimes airlines may choose to release a dummy ticket at any time without giving prior notice to the customer or travel agency. That’s why, we cannot promise our customers an exact date. The best we can offer is to create a new dummy ticket with a new PNR code for FREE if the previous one has expired. We recommend getting a dummy ticket made close to submission, not more than 1 day in advance. Remember, there is no set expiration date for a dummy ticket, and no person or business providing such services should guarantee one.

Schengen Visa Itinerary is providing 100% legit and verifiable Dummy Tickets to our customers. All our dummy tickets come with an unique airline reservation code (also known as PNR) that you can use to verify or look up on airline’s websites.

We also offer Hotel Reservation and affordable Travel Insurance to complete your visa requirements.

TIPS: Usually embassies or consulates don’t go with the verification process because they know the limited validity time period of the dummy ticket better than you and us. The actual purposes of submitting dummy tickets are they want to know the traveler intent, route schedule, departure and returning timings if round-trip and traveler name printed over the documents. These are the only essentials things they want from you.

IMPORTANT: It’s fairly common for a dummy ticket to expire during visa processing, but the embassy will not refuse your visa application because of it, that’s for sure. They might request you to re-submit the dummy ticket but again that’s very rare. If such issue arises we can create a new dummy ticket for FREE immediately.

Travel Itinerary for Schengen Visa Application

Getting a travel itinerary for visa application is the most difficult and confusing parts of the visa process. Consulates insist on providing with confirmed flight and hotel bookings. But they do not recommend purchasing an actual ticket. They just want an itinerary. Did you see how confusing is that?

Often times the consulates ask for one of these –

        Flight tickets

        Flight itinerary

        Flight confirmation

        Confirmed flight tickets

        Confirmed flight itinerary

        Round trip flight tickets

        Proof of onward travel

They all mean the same thing. “Flight tickets”. Consulates understand the fact that a visa application does not result in a guaranteed approval. Therefore, they only recommend you to “hold” a flight reservation, not actually “purchase” the flight tickets.

If your visa application is denied or delayed, you will lose the money that you have spent on the flight tickets. Airlines and Travel Insurance providers do not consider visa denial as a reason for refund claims. So, do not purchase your flight tickets until your visa application is approved.

If consulates would like to see purchased tickets, they will specifically ask for it. For example, Chile visa application mentions that you may have to show your purchased ticket on visa approval.

Not every airline service every route. You have to play around with different airlines and different booking sites to avail the hold option. Below are 15 proven ways to get a travel itinerary for visa application.

What Is A Flight/Travel Itinerary? How to Book a Flight Itinerary for Visa Application?

A Flight or a Travel Itinerary for Visa Application, as aforesaid, is not an actual air ticket that you spend money for, without being sure that your Schengen Visa will not be denied. A Travel Itinerary for Schengen Visa it is not much more than a document of a detailed plan of your flight or travel journey to the Schengen Area. In fact, it is only a flight timetable on the chosen flight airline, comprised of a flight name, your name, also a valid flight reservation number or booking ID, arrival and departure date and airport IATA codes, as well as the price of a real Flight Ticket.

Thus, fulfilling the requirement of the Embassy or Consulate when striving to get a Schengen Visa with a Flight Itinerary or a Flight Reservation, is the greatest and cheapest option! In such case, you are not actually risking your entire money, since you do not buy the actual Air Ticket for Visa.

How to Make Flight Itinerary for Every Trip You Take

Making a travel itinerary may sound like a completely trivial, waste-of-my-precious-time task to complete before you travel, but hear us out--a customized travel itinerary is awesome. It lays out every piece of information you may need on your trip so you're never left hunting around looking for an address or a phone number. This means you can spend more time exploring or relaxing and less time trying to organize yourself.

Simply put, an itinerary house all of the information you may ever need while on your trip in the same place. Here's how to get started:

        First, gather all of the info you may need: flights, hotels day trip info, etc.

        You can create your itinerary by hand if you must, but a digital version is easier. This way you can copy and paste hotel addresses and flight numbers without fear of reversing a number or missing part of an address or reversing a number.

        Next, start filling in day-by-day with any info you may need (see below)

        Once you're done adding your information, it's time to save your itinerary in a place you can easily access it. You can email it to yourself, but other good places to save it are in your Evernote, your Drop Box or even just saved as note on your smartphone.

        BUT, remember that sometimes smartphones die and we don't always have access to Wi-Fi--especially when traveling. This is where the hard copy comes in.

        Print a copy for yourself and store it with your boarding passes, maps or anything else you'd normally access together with flight details and hotel addresses.

        If it's an especially long trip you may want to make an extra copy to leave with a trusted relative, neighbour or friend. But think carefully. Don't go handing this out to anyone you don't completely trust.

How about the best way to store your itinerary while traveling? The easiest way is to store it in a clear plastic sleeve with any accompanying documentation like receipts, boarding passes, and tickets. The itinerary always goes on top with the information listed below, followed by the accompanying documents.

Creating an itinerary for your visa will give you peace of mind and simplify your travel routine:

Can I Convert Flight Reservation into Actual Flight Ticket?

If your visa application is approved by the corresponding embassy or the consulate, then you can contact us through our 24/7 Live Chat facility for converting your verifiable flight itinerary or dummy air ticket into an actual flight ticket.

Things to do in case of Incorrect Booking

Well, the best thing to do is to cancel the flight itinerary and purchase a new one to avoid further complications.

If the mistake is committed by the client, then he/she can simply approach us through our 24/7 Live Chat facility to make necessary amendments.

Why do Embassies Demand Flight Itinerary?

While buying a flight reservation for Schengen visa application, this question would’ve pocked your mind time and again that why embassies or consulate demand aforesaid document even before announcing a verdict on the visa application?

Well, embassies or consulate do so for two main reasons.

The foremost reason is that a dummy air ticket or roundtrip flight itinerary assures visa officials that the applicant has no intention to prolong his/her stay in the host nation and that he/she will return to his home country, after summing up the trip.

The second reason is that a dummy ticket or flight itinerary helps visa officials in determining the duration of the applicant’s visa. For instance, if the applicant submits a roundtrip flight itinerary, then the visa officials can calculate the duration of his/her stay in the host destination, thus calculating the duration or validity of the visa. In simple words, a flight itinerary gives visa officials control over determining the duration of your stay.

Should I Purchase Roundtrip Flight Itinerary or Open Flight Itinerary?

As mentioned above, a roundtrip flight itinerary increases your chances of getting visa manifold because it assures visa officials that applicant does not intend to prolong his stay in the Schengen Area illegally.

Contrary to that, a one-way flight itinerary creates doubt in the mind of the visa officer. Staffers at the embassies and consulates may think that applicant has no intention to return to his/her country back.

Therefore, it is always better to attach a roundtrip flight itinerary in the visa application.

Is Printout of Flight Itinerary Acceptable?

Yes, they will. The process of submitting a printout of a verifiable flight itinerary is 100 percent legal and acceptable in the embassies and consulates. Also, diplomatic staffers are fully aware of the aforesaid process and accept the printout of the verifiable Flight Itinerary.

This process is being practiced by hundreds of thousands of happy travelers across the globe.

FLIGHT BOOKING IS NECESSARY BEFORE APPLYING FOR VISA?

No. You don’t need to book a flight ticket before you apply for a visa. We see this question asked often such as on stack exchange flight itinerary or on Quora section for flight itinerary when applying for Schengen visa application. We have travelled to several countries and you can take our word for it. The visa consulates also realize that the rejection rates for visa applications are remarkably high (Denmark at one point of time had only 35% acceptance rate). It is not wise to expect visa applicants to actually buy the flight ticket and risk losing hundreds or in some cases thousands of dollars if the visa application is rejected. Then why do visa consulates ask for flight itinerary and reservations:

To establish that you do have flights from your city to your Destination to validate your flight itinerary against your travel itinerary that you have submitted. If you have mentioned that you will be holidaying in France but your itinerary says Germany. Then something is fishy.

When you apply for Schengen visa, then you must apply in the visa consulate of a country in which you would spend the most time in. Ex: if you are holidaying for 20 days and plan to stay in France for 15 days. Then you should apply for your visa in the French consulate. But if you are spending 10 days in France and 10 days in Germany, then you will need to apply in that consulate where you would be landing first. A flight itinerary confirms this fact since your arrival city would be your first point of entry

So, to reiterate, please book your travel ticket once your visa application has been confirmed.

Here is another link which explains why it is not a good idea to get an air ticket before your visa has been approved.

Why Does the Consulate or The Embassy Ask for Flight Itinerary for Schengen Visa?

There are 3 reasons why you would be asked to show your flight itinerary.

To decide on the length of your stay: Although most short-stay visas such as the Schengen visa is issued for a maximum of 90 days that does not mean your visa will be granted for 90 days. You will be valid only for the period of your stay that you mention in your itinerary. So, if your travel itinerary and cover letter state that you will be staying for 28 days then your visa will be valid only for 28 days or your return flight date only. In rare cases it may be extended by 10 to 15 days and not more.

To confirm you are applying at the right embassy: As per Schengen rule you should apply with the embassy. in which country you plan to spend most of your trip. For example, if you plan to spend 20 days in Europe. 10 days in France, 5 days in Germany, 2 days in Italy & 3 days in Swiss. Then where do you apply? the answer is France since your main theme of travel is France.

Similarly, if you are spending 20 days in Europe with 10 equal days in Italy & 10 days in France, then which consulate should you apply? In this case, the answer is country in which you land first. Your flight itinerary will help the consulate to make it easier for them to determine.

Over-staying in Europe: A flight itinerary must theoretically, make it easier to determine your duration of stay. When you mention the dates in the itinerary you are making a promise that you intend to get out of the country after your visa expires. Also, who else are you travelling with.

The types of multiple-entry visas and how to get them

Other than the basic short-stay multiple-entry Schengen Visa, there are three main visa types covering longer periods.

- One-year multiple-entry Schengen Visa

You can apply for this Schengen Visa type provided that you have used three visas within the previous two years.

- Three-year multiple-entry Schengen Visa

The three-year multiple-entry visa is granted to applicants who have obtained and lawfully used a previous multiple-entry visa valid for one year within the past two years. The 90/180 days rule again applies.

- Five-year multiple-entry Schengen Visa

A five-year multiple-entry visa is granted to people that have used a previous multiple-entry visa valid for at least two years over the past three years.

- Multiple-entry national visas

A national D category is required by those who are studying, working or permanently residing in one of the Schengen Countries. These can be single-entry, but multiple-entry national visas are also granted to certain individuals, allowing them to travel in and out of a specific Schengen Country and travel throughout the whole Schengen Area without additional visa requirements.

To gain a national multiple-entry Visa, you must meet the certain criteria:

        You must be on an international student program requiring a visa for less than one year. If you are an international student that is about to start a full course of studies in one of the Schengen States. This visa is issued for one year with the possibility of extending it.

        A national multiple-entry Schengen Visa may also be granted to those working at a higher institution or research center, who needs to travel in and out of the Schengen Area due to their work. They can also be granted to anyone in a profession requiring specialist expertise, including sportspeople, artists or any other specialized profession.

These types of national multiple-entry Schengen Visas have similar restrictions to the standard multiple-entry Schengen Visa - but can allow the holder to stay in a country beyond the 90 days specified by the normal visa.

Also, from 9 June 2014, all British Overseas Territories citizens (BOTCs), British Overseas citizens (BOCs), British Protected Persons (BPPs), and British Subjects (BS) are allowed to travel visa free to the EU Schengen Area for a maximum of 90 days.

Who can apply for a Schengen visa in the UK?

To apply for a Schengen visa from the UK, your UK residence permit must be valid for at least another three more months beyond the date you plan to leave the Schengen Area. If this condition is not fulfilled, the Consulate where you lodge your Schengen visa application will reject your application immediately.

Non-residents such as travellers and tourists currently on a visa in the UK, cannot file their visa application at the Schengen embassies in the United Kingdom. Instead, they should apply for a Schengen visa at the appropriate Schengen embassy in their home country.

Use the Schengen visa eligibility checker tool to find out if you qualify to apply for a Schengen visa from the UK.

If you have a 3-month UK visa you can extend it for three more months in order to be eligible to apply for a Schengen visa from within the UK. You must apply for an extension before your visa expires and while you’re still in the UK. Find out more on how to extend your UK visa.

Please, note that if you are not a resident in the United Kingdom you should apply at the Embassy/Consulate in your country of residence.

The following list of documents are required in order to obtain a Schengen visa in the UK:

What should your travel insurance for Schengen Visa cover?

When traveling, it is essential to get the appropriate level of cover in the event of accident or medical emergency. However, if you want to enter Europe, purchasing travel insurance for Schengen Visa is mandatory.

According to the Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009, your policy should cover the following:

·        Medical emergencies, including sickness;

·        Repatriation of remains in the event of death;

·        Emergency evacuation;

·        Accidental injuries;

·        Return of a minor;

·        Overseas funeral expenses.

It is worth noting that, generally, travel insurances do not cover pre-existing conditions, such as diabetes or asthma. In these cases, it is advisable to speak to your doctor and to choose a policy that can suit you the best.

If you want to enjoy your journey without worries, you can purchase a Europe travel insurance policy. These packages are designed for Schengen Visa travelers, and usually, also cover the following:

·         Trip cancellation or interruption;

·        Lost, stolen or damaged baggage;

·        Hijacking;

·        Delayed baggage;

·        Flight connection missed due to weather or to airline schedule crash;

·        Pregnancy-related expenses, if you travel during your first trimester.

If you are planning to engage in risky activities or to enter an endangered country, you may need to purchase a dedicated policy.
